8-0 versus Kearns
This will be a day 18 courageous BRAVES will remember forever. Why?
- They didn't lose a game the entire season. They dug deep and found what they needed when it mattered, every single time.
- They outscored their opponents 373-31.
- Half-time Zumba. Need I say more?
- They played the championship game in 10 inches of snow. Instead of a green field with narrow white yard markers, they had a white field with narrow strips of green as yard markers.
- The snow made it hard to run, kick, and throw. It seemed like everything was in slow motion.
- Equipment time-outs during the championship game consisted of shoveling snow out of helmet face guards. The image of Dallas Bangerter standing up from the first play plastered with snow will forever be ingrained in our minds .
- Every single kid on the team had the support of a whole family behind them. There wasn't a kid who played who didn't have someone there just for them.
- They played football for an entire season (many of them two and even three seasons) with a group of friends. They were truly a team.
- They had 5 coaches who cared about these kids on the field and off the field.
- They had an awesome team mom (Thanks, Lisa!!) who always saw to the details that made it come together. From hot chocolate and hand warmers on cold days, to icy Gatorade on hot days, to game film viewing parties, to motivational speakers, she thought of it all.
- Near the end of the season, they started practicing at a secret location. This was to avoid the scouts.
- They won. They are champions. They will be champions forever.
CONGRATULATIONS BRAVES!!!!
